Paint Party: Make Painting Fun

Paint PartyIf you need to paint your home, but want to save on labor costs, a paint party might just be the solution for you.  Experts say, labor costs for painting vary widely, depending on region, season, type of painting project, and experience level. On an average, you can expect to pay around $50 per hour for house painting projects. However, highly experienced painters can charge up to $70 per hour for specialty projects like murals. This means, painting a home interior or room can cost between $970 and $2,700.  That’s probably why right now, the trend of painting while enjoying the company of your friends is on the rise! There are a few things you should consider before getting started with your paint party.

What You Should Keep In Mind

Prep the walls yourself. This way you can do it exactly how you want it and you won’t have bored paint friends leaving the party early. Be honest with your friends, tell them exactly what they are in for when you invite them over. Make sure you get your friends favorite beverages. Remember, you will be saving a lot of money on labor costs so don’t skimp  on the drinks. The happier your painter friends are, the better the results will be. Get all your supplies including paint, brushes, rollers tarps and tape. Once you have all of your friends over, you don’t want to  run out to get essential tools. Give your friends certain tasks. After all, you don’t want them all to start on the same wall. Depending on how competitive your friends are, you could even do little contests. For instance, which team gets a wall done first, or who did the most thorough job.  Just one more piece of advice: start out with the detail work such as corners and edges. Since your painting friends might have a good buzz going by the end of the day, you will want to have them do the difficult work first.
